Ducati rider, Valentino Rossi, confessed that he was pleased with the speed recorded in the first day of official MotoGP test at Sepang in 2011, on Tuesday (22/02/2011). Despite only being in ninth position and a second adrift of Casey Stoner, who became the fastest on the opening day of this, "The Doctor" was satisfied.
In the second official test, Rossi has not been in a state of 100 per cent fit. It was following the right shoulder surgery in mid-November last year. Even so, winning seven world titles it appears pretty good MotoGP. Even in three sessions early (at 12.00, 14.00, and 16.00), he's always in the top six. This is what makes the former Yamaha rider is happy.
"Today we can be satisfied, although the first day. We only left one second from the top position, just like when on the last day of the first test, but without trying to make time at the end with soft tires as did the others," said Rossi. "Broadly speaking, today, I was between the fifth and sixth positions, in accordance with the goals that we planned."
"I'm still lost about three tenths of seconds due to the shoulder condition. However, when turning to the left, I feel stronger, whereas normally I'm usually the opposite."
"I am also happy because we spent time with hard tires, which in prior to today we have trouble when using it. In the end, we chose one of the two setting that we did on the last test, and it will be the basis of our work from now , and what will be our focus in the coming days. "
Rossi's teammate, Nicky Hayden, who ended the first day of this test in 12th position, well pleased. It was mentioned even though he had had an accident in the morning session.
"Everything goes according to schedule, except I had a little accident in Turn 1 by the end of the morning session. The weather is really hot, and I lost balance. I tried to quietly so that no damage either to himself or the bike," says champion This 2006 world adding that the next exercise, they should find some traction again.
