Rehabilitation, home to Spain's Bautista

Suzuki rider, Alvaro Bautista, had returned to Spain to begin the rehabilitation process. Bautista crashed out of the MotoGP practice session in Qatar last weekend, so she had to undergo intensive treatment and failed to appear at the inaugural series.

Spanish rider suffered a broken left thigh bone during an accident at Losail Circuit in training on Friday (18/3/11). He later had surgery to install a metal pin into the bone.

Although the operation was a success, but Bautista suffered some minor injuries that develop into Compartmental Syndrome. This occurs when the muscles under pressure, which could then be developed into a more dangerous level. It can reduce blood flow, which prevents food and oxygen reaches the muscle cells and inhibit the healing process.

As a consequence, Bautista had to undergo a second operation to remove a cut on his leg, so the pressure is reduced. The wound was left open, then he moved to Madrid to undergo further treatment. Bautista examined by doctors on arrival in Spain and undergo another operation to close the wound.

Suzuki confirmed, all the procedure was a success, and the pressure around the wound is reduced. This allows Bautista taken several steps while on Thursday.

So far, there is no certainty when Bautista will be back. As a substitute position in the arena of MotoGP, Suzuki has appointed John Hopkins to become pebalapnya on the second series in Jerez, Spain, 1-3 April.
