New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw looked to back away a little from his agent's overtures to the Miami Dolphins on Monday night, stating ESPN 1050 that he "loves NY more than anything" and wants to remain a Giant.
Bradshaw, 25, could become an unrestricted free agent when the lockout is lifted. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Miami 7 Sports Xtra on Sunday that his client is open to becoming a Miami Dolphins.
"He is training here in Miami and would be very interested in the Dolphins," Rosenhaus stated. "If they (the Dolphins) are interested in Ahmad, we are very interested in the Dolphins."
Bradshaw is spending his offseason in Miami, training and retrieving from operation to clean out his left ankle in mid-February.
"It is a process," Bradshaw stated of his possible free agency. "All I can do is just stay concentrated. I just wanted to play football. I love the game. I am working hard right now, my agent is doing his job and hopefully we can settle something soon."
Although he did not atttend the Giants' voluntary workouts at Hoboken (N.J.) High School in May, Bradshaw stated he's kept in contact with wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham and fellow running back Brandon Jacobs during the lockout.
"We just wanna act together and have fun," Bradshaw told. "Football game is the best sport ever. We are just desiring there's a season this year."
The Giants have stated Bradshaw that he will be a priority in the offseason, but the team might be hard-pressed to keep both Bradshaw and Jacobs.
Told Bradshaw: "Hopefully I am a Giant next year, but if the Dolphins are interested, I gotta look at my choices."
