Jack Wilshere has sustained a fresh injury blow. and jack wilshare requires surgery on ankle.
The 19-year-old arsenal player has been troubled by a stress fracture, but it was desired that the problem would cure itself with the help of a protective boot.
Arsenal confirmed today in a statement that Jack's ankle has failed to react to the treatment and he'lll now go under the knife on Monday morning. The midfielder is expected to be sidelined for several months.
"Throughout Wilshare's hurt, Arsenal has been guided by the continuous advice of numerous world-renowned medical specialist," said the statement on the Arsenal's site.
"The information gained this week has led to the conclusion that surgery is now required to gain an optimum reaction. Jack Wilshere is now expected to be out for a period of months. Following surgery these timescales will become more particular."
A club spokesman added: "We've given Jack Wilshare time to heal naturally, which is crucial wherever possible with a young player. The latest scans show surgery is required. Everyone at the club regards Jack a quick recovery."
Jack Wilshere has been bothered by his ankle throughout the summer, having sustained the original problem in the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifier between England and Switzerland in June.
And while it had been desired Jack Wilshere would return in a matter of weeks, Arsene Wenger is now expected to be without the player until the end of this year.
