Jorge Lorenzo Absent in Valencia. Yamaha team confirming, rider Jorge Lorenzo will miss the last series at the Valencia MotoGP. Host rider was still serving his recovery from plastic surgery to cure his left ring finger was injured during training at the Circuit Phillip Island, Australia, three weeks ago.
"Lorenzo continued the healing period, but unfortunately not fast enough to race again this weekend. We are waiting for his presence with us on Saturday and Sunday to provide support for our substitute rider," said Wilco Zeelenberg, Yamaha team manager at Valencia.
In Valencia, Lorenzo will be replaced by a Yamaha rider experimenters Katsuyuki Nakasuga. At the All Japan Superbike rider was replaced Lorenzo in Malaysia series and series that Valencia will be the second appearance in MotoGP.
"A great honor was appointed to replace Lorenzo in Sepang and Valencia. This weekend, Valencia is a new track for me and I will strive to obtain good results," said Nakasuga.
Although absent in Valencia, Lorenzo remains the second prize at the end of the 2011 season. After the race, team Yamaha will announce the list of riders that will follow 1,000 cc motorcycle test.
