Bayern Munich apologize for having cheating his own supporters with the promise to bring new players in this January transfer window. In fact, it's just a trick just to increase the number of fans on Facebook.
"We apologize. However, it is not our intention to disappoint you with new applications FC Bayern. Instead, we want to focus our attention to you and show how important the fans for Bayern Munich," Bayern said in a statement.
Through his official website, Bayern said they would announce a new striker on Thursday (26.01.2012) at 14.00 local time at 20:00 pm. They are asking supporters to watch the announcement live via Facebook.
In fact, until the deadline had passed, Munich did not recruit new players. As a result, the fans furious. They're taking it out by writing a commentary on the club's Facebook page. Fans feel cheated. Apparently, this step is part of Munich's marketing strategy to increase the number of their fans through Facebook.
