Emirates Become F1 Sponsor

Emirates airlines venturing into Formula 1 arena. They announced has reached an agreement for a five-year sponsorship with F1, and will include most of the race.

The deal was announced on Tuesday (05/02/2013) by F1 boss, Bernie Ecclestone. It is also an indication that racing sport is very well supported from the oil-rich Gulf.



Agreement airline based in Dubai includes 15 races this season, which begins in Malaysia. Previously, there were companies from the region to sponsor, that Etihad Airlines, which supports GP Abu Dhabi, as well as Gulf Air sponsor of Bahrain Grand Prix.

This is Emirates part of their global expansion to sponsor popular sports. They also have officially reached an agreement with FIFA, following a five-year duration of the agreement, as well as ATP (tennis), which started this year.
