Sergio Van Dijk Join Persib Bandung

Persib Bandung officially signing Sergio van Dijk with a duration of a contract for two years, until 2015. With Maung Bandung, the 30-year-old player will wear numbered 10.

Persib Bandung actually have been long time ago wanting to recruit Sergio. However, Persib Bandung desire was only done after he was officially declared become a citizen of Indonesia (WNI), Monday (11/02/2013).


 
"I have a two-year contract, might be three, maybe four years. Or maybe I got to be the coach here. Maybe Persib Bandung will be the last club for me. If I can play until the age of 40 I wanted to keep playing football," said Sergio Van Dijk.

Sergio Van Dijk himself is rumored to be directly prepared of Persib Bandung match in Indonesia Super League (ISL). He allegedly ready to appear in the game against Persisam Samarinda on February 16 and Mitra Kukar, 21 February.

"Sergio Van Dijk has been registered by Persib Bandung for competition. So we hope Sergio Van Dijk can provide the best for Persib," said Commissioner of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat Kuswara S Taryono.

Sergio Van Dijk began his career at local club LTC in Assen Netherlands. Subsequently, he joined FC Groningen youth academy. Then, he moved to the club Helmond Sport in 2002.

Three years later, he join FC Emmen and migrated to Australia with Brisbane Roar before joining Adelaide United in 2010.

During league action in Australia (A-League), Sergio is one of the mainstay of Adelaide. During his career in the land of kangaroos that Sergio Van Dijk has scored 50 goals which put him in third place as the top scorer, after Shane Smeltz (Perth Glory, 65 goals) and Archie Thompson (Melbourne Victory, 60 goals).
