105 karate athletes from nine countries will compete in an international karate championship Indonesia Open 2011 1-2 June in Jakarta.
Indonesia Open nine participating countries in addition to the 3-host Indonesia is Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, Brunei, Iran, and Myanmar.
According to the General Chairman of PB Forki Hendardji Soepandji told reporters on Monday in Jakarta, Indonesia Open very strategic event as a test for national training athletes who are prepared for the SEA Games in 2011 which will take place in Jakarta and Palembang.
"Event is quite strategic because it could be a test for athletes and for us to get the power of the SEA Games team" said Hendardji Soepandji.
He said the Indonesia Open this year, Indonesia will lose two teams A and B. Team A consists of the SEA Games athletes pelatnas and B of the karateka OSO Cup winners 2011. Indonesia Open touched on target this year, General Chairman of PB Forki said to be the best in Southeast Asia. "Through this event we want to be the best in Southeast Asia," he said.
