Alvaro Negredo, who arrived at Sevilla from Real Madrid in 2009, was the top Spanish marksman in La Liga last season with 20 goals, and has began the current campaign in a similar vein, with 3 goals in 6 league outings. "I want to keep on developing in this great club and what better way to acknowledge the faith placed in me than to renew and extend the contract".
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido was determined to continue his prize asset and Alvaro Negredo stated the club's site: "He [Del Nido] opened the door and I didn't waste any time entering".
