Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema (23), was chosen as France Player of the Year 2011 by magazine France Football. "It is the joy of the individual trophy. When I see this award-winning earlier, Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, and other big players, I'm proud to be the winning list (this award) with them," said Benzema.
Benzema won 155 points in the election conducted by former award winners, ahead of Barcelona defender Eric Abidal (110) and Olympique Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (69), who finished third for his third year in a row.
It is not separated from the progress of Benzema, especially in matters of breaking the opponent's goal. After scoring nine goals for Madrid in the 2009-2010 season, Benzema created 26 goals in 2010-2011 season.
This season, he has played 21 times in all competitions followed by Madrid and scored 13 goals. Finally, he scored one goal in the match Liga BBVA, against Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu last weekend, which ended 3-1 to the visitors.
