The puzzle about David Beckham's career continues. Certainty whether Becks will survive in the Los Angeles Galaxy or unplug the power is still undecided. Even so, the President of Major League Soccer (MLS), Tim Leiweke, is still optimistic that Beckham will stay in the United States.
Currently the MLS and LA Galaxy still continues to seek new contracts for the former England captain's. Becks's contract expired since the end of last season, when the LA Galaxy won the MLS title on stage.
Several European clubs began to look at the possibility of recruiting Beckham. One of the most insistent is the Paris Saint-Germain. However, Beckham opportunities in the Capital of France began to evaporate. MLS's camp claimed the contract extension negotiations with LA Galaxy continues.
"We're in the effort towards it," said Leiweke told the LA Times. "I'm optimistic we'll finish it. We still have work for it, and not finished. Believe me. I hope we succeed."
MLS itself believes Beckham still has a high sales value to raise the prestige of the best competition in the U.S.. Therefore, efforts will be made to maintain Becckham.
"A lot of rumors that appears. But we are committed to David. He also has proximity to the LA Galaxy. So not surprisingly, chose his family settled in Los Angeles. I believe we stepped on the right track. I was sure David will play again at LA Galaxy next season, "he added.
