Shakhtar Donetsk coach who also once worked with Inter Milan, Mircea Lucescu, had to undergo surgery on Sunday (08/01/2012). Therefore, several broken ribs from a car accident on Friday (01/06/2012).
"From now Lucescu surgery. The Romanian doctors do their best to try to overcome injuries and other problems," the official statement the club Shakhtar Donetsk through its website.
Lucescu (66 years) is an experienced coach. Romania coach had handled several big clubs. In addition to Inter Milan, Benfica and Besiktas had feel his touch. Starting 2004, he handled the Donetsk and quite successful. He had brought Donesk FA Cup winners 2009.

Lucescu plight was pretty beat Donetsk. The club owner, Rinat Akhmetov, said sadly. "He's not only our coach, but also my best friend," said the wealthy businessman.
Donetsk is now in second Ukrainian league standings. They left behind only one point from Dynamo Kiev and competition still leaves 10 games.
"We really needed him. I hope the coaching staff can do the job well even without him. After his accident, we have to win the league for him," said Akhmetov.
