Coloured Teerasil Dangda hat-trick, Thailand win with a score of 4-0 over Myanmar. These results ensure Thailand became the first team to qualify for the AFF Cup 2012 semifinals.
In the match at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Tuesday (27/11/2012) night local time, Myanmar threatened in the 18th minute through the efforts of David Htan. Getting a pass from Kyi Lin, Htan opened shoot but the direction is still widening.
Two minutes later, Thailand opened the scoring. From Phichitphong Choeichiu pass, Teerasil that escape the offside trap beat Myanmar goalkeeper managed Thiha Sithu. 1-0 score stood until halftime.
The home side scored his second goal in the 60th minute. Anucha Kitpongsri cross from the left side convert by Apipoo Suntornpanavej with a header that could not be stopped by Sithu.
Ten minutes later, Apipoo almost make another goal. But this time his left foot shot was anticipated by Sithu.
Myanmar has a golden opportunity when the game entered the 78th minute. Long-range free-kick released Aung Moe towards goal, but the keeper Married Thammasatchanan fly and catch the ball.
Myanmar nets burst again in the 81st minute. Theeraton Bunmathan long pass from midfield split the defense and make Teerasil faced with the Myanmar goalkeeper. Without difficulty, the player's number 10 scored his second goal.
Two minutes before the end of normal time, Teerasil fulfill his hat-trick. Receiving pass from Sompong Soleb, he sent the ball into the right side of the net without being able to reach Sithu.
With this result, Thailand topped the standings in Group A with six points from two matches. Winfried Schaefer's team is likely to advance to the semifinals. Myanmar at the bottom with one point.
