Disabilities runner, Oscar Pistorius cry when present in the court for shooting his girlfriend case, Reeva Steenkamp.
In this first trial, Pistorius apply for suspension of detention while the police have said they would reject that request.
Pistorius shooting case occurred at his home in a residential area in Pretoria. Steenkamp who came to the house in the morning to surprise Pistorius on Valentine's Day just shot his girlfriend. Pistorius later admitted he thought his girlfriend was a thief.
Pistorius came to the first session, accompanied by his father, Henke, his brothers Carl and Aimee and fans. Police say they have conducted an autopsy Steenkamp corpse on Friday (15/02/2013), but would not reveal the results. According police, the victim was shot four times. They also confiscated Pistorius 9 mm caliber pistol.
Last year, Pistorius made history by becoming the first disabled athlete who competed at the London Olympics. He qualified for the semi-finals of the 400 meters and 4x100 meters final.
