Chelsea striker Didier Drogba was recently rumored to be a target of AC Milan. However, the Italian Serie A club was in fact not at all aiming for Drogba.
The news in Italy reported that Milan want to swap Antonio Cassano, who is also the target of Fiorentina, with Drogba this summer.
With the arrival of Fernando Torres in January, the future of Drogba in Chelsea's starting speculated. Moreover, the contract's 33-year-old striker at Stamford Bridge just one more year left to live.
It is quite possible Drogba will indeed move to another club. However, it is not likely that Milan does not need the extra attacker.
"We already have enough players at the position of the attacker then Drogba will not arrive," said Milan vice president Adriano Galliani told the Corriere dello Sport quoted by Sporting Life.
