Lampard dismissed for Bulgaria match

Frank Lampard was put down for England's UEFA EURO 2012 match with Bulgaria as manager Fabio Capello chose for a new-look midfield in the Group G qualifying game.

Lampard's skip was the biggest surprise with Capello preferring Scott Parker and Gareth Barry to anchor the center. It's the 1st time in 4 years that Lampard has been left out of England's starting line-up when fit and available.

Arsenal's Theo Walcott and Liverpool's Downing were named on the wings, while Manchester United duo Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young spearhead the attack as England chase a win which will see them edge closer to automatic qualification for next year's finals in Poland and Ukraine.

In defence Capello preferred for the more experienced Gary Cahill to partner captain John Terry, resisting the temptation to hand a debut to Manchester United's in-form teenager Phil Jones.

Manchester United's Chris Smalling slots in at right back with Chelsea's Ashley Cole patrolling the left flank and Joe Hart in goal.
