Dmitry Rybolovlev bought AS Monaco

Rich businessmen from Russia officially became the new owner of the French club, AS Monaco. AS Monaco, who is playing in Ligue 2 purchased by Dmitry Rybolovlev  with an undisclosed value.


Rybolovlev received support from Monaco Sports Investments to acquire 66 percent stake in the club. While the remaining 33 percent stake still owned the old owner Monaco.

MSI also promised to invest at least 100 million euros in the next four years, following its approval of the Prince Albert II, while taking over the club.

Currently, Rybolovlev listed as the 93rd richest man Forbes world. This fertilizer entrepreneur wealth is estimated at 5 billion euros in June 2010.

Rybolovlev short term target now is to restore the highest achievements of Monaco to the French league competition. Last season, Monaco relegated from Ligue 1.
