England midfielder, David Beckham (37), train at Arsenal on Tuesday (1/29/2013) morning. Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, admitted not considered hiring Beckham.
"He has asked for permission to come here and practice to improve fitness. He did not practice very long time. He came here to try to be fit again," said Wenger.
"There is no speculation about recruiting or other. He came here purely for fitness."
"We are open to anyone when they come here and those who have made a large contribution to English football. You are always trying to help," he said.
Beckham has not got a club since his contract at LA Galaxy runs out in December 2012. However, he has consistently claimed not thinking retirement.
According to reports in England, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United are interested in signing Beckham.
