Juventus delivered Antonio Conte a flying start to the season in their new stadium, Juvenntus Arena with a 4-1 beating of AC Parma.
Arturo Vidal and Stephan Lichtsteiner on their first appearance - plus Simone Pepe and Claudio Marchisio hit the goals, to hand the Bianconeri the ideal start.
Former Juve forward Giovinco scored an injury-time consolation from the spot after De Ceglie had been sent off for bringing him down in the box.
Having spent hard in the summer on a number of recruits, Juventus handed debuts to Andrea Pirlo, Lichtsteiner and Emanuele Giaccherini, while Mirko Vucinic and Vidal both came off the bench to also make their first appearances in the La Vechia Signora shirt.
Even though Juve's new 41,000 capacity Juventus Arena wasn't quite full, there was a scorching atmosphere inside the ground for its first official match. And the hosts didn't let down, coming out of the traps with energy and desire.
Despite the convincing triumph, Conte wasn't an entirely satisfied man. "At half-time I told the lads that 1-0 was not a fair reflection of the game, which was partly our error and partly due to other factors.
"Otherwise it was a well debut. Having said that, I do not want to con anyone, we were not perfect and there is still a lot of work to do. You can not concede a penalty and a red card at 4-0. We also have to work on this even if the attack, and particularly the defence, did really well."
