Defending champion Serena Williams escaped from the first test in an attempt to defend his Wimbledon title. In the first round, he passed hadangan Aravane Rezai 6-3, 3-6 and 6-1.
Serena, who previously absent from the field for nearly a year due to injury and only had one warm-up tournament before Wimbledon, started the match on Centre Court on Tuesday (06/21/2011), with inconclusive.
