Red Bull officially introduced the new car which will be their mainstay in competition Formula 1 2013. The car will be driven by Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber were named RB9.
RB9 is a ninth car built by Red Bull since they were acquired Jaguar in 2005. Renault-engined cars it was designed by a team that was led by Adrian Newey.
Red Bull launches RB9 at their headquarters located in Milton Keynes, England, Sunday (03/02/2013). With these cars, they hope to snatch the title of world champion riders and constructors for the fourth time in a row.
As the cars of Red Bull before, RB9 still dominated blue-red-yellow. What distinguishes this time there was a purple scent in the car body.
RB9 still adopting stepped nose on the snout, but with no cooling slots for the rider. For now, this car does not have a passive DRS system, although in the future there may be a change.
According to Newey, his team did not do major changes to build RB9. He just made improvements on the car used last year, RB8.
"There's no big change. All principle is still the same as last year," he said as quoted by Crash.
Meanwhile, Vettel hopes he can repeat the car's impressive performance he showed in the last three seasons.
"It's going to be a long year again. A daunting challenge awaits us," he said.
"I'm looking forward to it and do not think about what happened last year. People expect something from us, but more than that we expect ourselves to perform well," said Vettel.
