Casey Stoner was crowned himself as the fastest rider at the Spanish GP qualifying session on Saturday (2/4/11), so he grabbed pole position. Repsol Honda rider beat his team mate, Dani Pedrosa and Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo, who in a row behind it.
While noting the best time so it will start from pole position in Sunday's race (3/4/11), Stoner admitted that setting the bike is not maximized. Therefore, the Australian rider is very confident, if pengesetannya are correct, then during the race later performance would be much nicer.
It's certainly become a very good signal for Stoner, in his attempt to conquer the Jerez circuit. The problem, in nine appearances here (in all classes of their own cellular phones), their best result was finishing in the top three along with Ducati motorcycles in the 2009 season.
Now, by setting the wrong course he can beat all rivals, how it later if pengesetannya perfect? To be sure, Stoner was very happy with the performance shown since the exercise.
"This morning I was very happy with how the motor in the use of tires. We can do more than the distance of a race, and not too far away to record my best time, so we are very pleased," said Stoner.
"This afternoon we want to forward it, try setting more laps with hard tires and see if we can fix it. We do not look to be moving in the right direction - every time we seem to find more grip, we lost the feeling in the front, so that we're just trying to find balance.
"When we use soft tires, we feel unhappy with the workings of the motor, so I think we will go back to what was done in the morning."
This qualifying session crash into the arena for a number of riders, including Stoner. At the first corner on the last lap, he slid so that the gravel and crashed into his motorcycle after hitting a guardrail.
"Having recorded the best time with one set, we switched to the second set and it turns out, the tires do not feel good when I want to push the motor more taut again when entering the corner," said Stoner of minor accidents that happen to him.
"I was braking a little harder, and lift the rear tire when I braked, because the speed is too high."
